Joanna Russ’s texts always make me think of Mari Kotani (her Japaense translator, acadmic, cosplayer, sci fi critic and generally lovely lady) and her textual harrassment case. (wiki link for the ‘cliff notes version’ if you are unaware of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mari_Kotani
